This morning I woke up to a comment on my blog from Michelle at Apples and ABC's: Adventures in Kindergarten...I've been tagged!
Here are the rules:
1. Post these rules
2. Answer the 10 questions that the tagger posted for you
3. Create 10 questions of your own to ask the people that you're about to tag
4. Tag 10 people and link them with your post (and let them know they've been tagged)
Here are the questions Michelle asked me...
1. If you could teach any other grade, what would it be?
Since we're all adults here...I like a good Scotch or Bourbon...on the rocks. :)
3. What is your favorite store to shop for goodies for your classroom?
Too many....Target dollar bins, Dollar Store, Garage Sales!
4. What inspired you to start blogging?
I started following all of these amazing bloggers and loved how generous they were with their ideas and how supportive they all seemed of each other and I wanted to join in on the fun.
5. What is your favorite unit/lesson that you have blogged (add link)?
I really liked my letter writing activity this year! It was so great for the kiddos and the parents.
6. Would you rather teach at a year-round school, or traditional school (what is that called??)?
Ha! I teach at a traditional school so I would really be interested in a year-round school...as long as we had air conditioning in our building. I'm not sure how the calendar would look but the idea of having a chunk of teaching and then a break intrigues me! (Don't tell the teachers I teach with though.) :)
7. Are you reading The Hunger Games?
Not yet...but it's on my stack to read! Definitely a summer read for me!
8. If you could travel anywhere, were would you go?
Well, I just got back from Disney World and although I loved it, we usually vacation on Daytona Beach Shores (the quieter...family end of the beach) so I'm kind of missing my ocean fix and would head south to the Daytona Beach area in Florida. My family rents a condo or two for the week and I love staying up late, waking up to the sound of the ocean and being on the beach all day. The only thing we need to think about is where and when we're going to eat dinner.
9. What is your favorite jungle animal?
Since I'm in a Disney frame of mind right now my favorite animal is King Louie from "The Jungle Book". :)
10. Who is your favorite children's author?
Oh my gosh...so many! I used to work in a children's bookstore so I was surrounded by great children's literature all of the time! This year I went to Mazza (a Children's Illustrator's Museum), in Findlay, Ohio and got to meet Kevin Henkes, Steven Kellogg, Anna Dewdney, Jerry Pinkney, Vincent Di Nguyen, Jim Arnosky and David Wiesner. SO FUN! Next year Mo Willems is coming and he's one of my favorites right now so I can't wait to meet him!
Well....I really love first grade. Several years ago I was RIF'ed and the only full time position available for me was a 5th grade position so I did a 2 year stint in 5th grade. When a first grade position opened up I jumped on it. I loved the experience of teaching 5th grade because it made me a better 1st grade teacher, but I think my niche is with the littler ones. So I guess if I could teach any other grade it would be 2nd or 3rd grade.
2. What is your favorite beverage? Since we're all adults here...I like a good Scotch or Bourbon...on the rocks. :)
3. What is your favorite store to shop for goodies for your classroom?
Too many....Target dollar bins, Dollar Store, Garage Sales!

Now 10 questions for those I'm about to tag!
1. Where is your all time favorite place to vacation?
2. What do you do to chill out after a long day?
3. How many days of school do you have until summer vacation?
4. What is something your team or your building collaborates and/or creates for your students?
5. Would you rather read a book on your Kindle (or other digital device) or hold the book in your hands?
6. What is something your principal does to make you feel appreciated?
7. Share something that makes you really proud to teach in your school district.
8. What is your biggest "oops moment" as a teacher?
9. If you could be anything other than a teacher what would you be?
10. You've been hired to design and teach a college course to students who want to become teachers. What would you include in your course?
Now I get to tag 10 people...I'll do my best to pick some who haven't been tagged yet! :)
Now I'm off to let them know they've been tagged!
Have a great night!
Thanks for the tag Jenn...I'm your newest follower:)
