Just look at that shine!
Even with the lights off...I almost needed to put my sunglasses on...that shine just screamed, "Welcome Back! Time to get to work!" My room looks so huge! Oh...yeah. All of the furniture is sitting in the hall. Wait a minute! Something else was missing.....MY TREE! Oh gosh! How did they take it out? Did they have to take it apart??
"What tree?" you ask... this tree!
My family and I, with a close friend's help created it last year! The leaves change with each season...these were my spring leaves. I love this tree! But where is it?? I couldn't find it anywhere! So I took a deep breath and reminded myself, that I was told that everything--EVERYTHING was coming out of our rooms this summer so that they could strip the floors. Of course my tree had to be removed. Everything will be fine. So I gave my custodians a few days and went back for another quick visit. Here's what I found.
My room is barricaded. I couldn't even move things to get in...all I really wanted to do was to pick up my Mod Podge so that I could get a little crafty! So...needless to say, I need to give them a little more time.Just a reminder about my 1 year Birthday Celebration!

OMG!!!! Guess what's on TV!!! Summer School...with Mark Harmon and Kirstie Alley...could you just imagine!?! Such a funny movie! I think if I taught an education class in college I might show this movie...just to spur conversation! It's about 25 years old (already)!! I laughed out loud when the Principal was running around the parking lot stopping teachers in their cars on the last day of school to ask them to teach summer school. Speaking of TV...have you seen those Shingles commercials?? "If you've already had chickenpox, the virus is living in you"?!?!? Seriously?? Isn't there a shot or something I can get? Those commercials freak me out!
Okay...well...I'm starting to ramble a bit so I'm going to go enjoy the sunshine!
Have a great day!
I am loving the super shiny floor! I am sooo envious of your beautiful windows!!!

I know, right!?! It's a blank canvas!
DeleteI went to school Monday to drop off some stuff, and they were working on mine. Super excited cause my room is typically the last to be done! Love shiny floors.

I just hope I can keep them shiny! I have lots to move around in there!
DeleteThere is just something about a squeaky clean classroom that makes me happy!

You're cracking me up with the Shingles. But, yes someone somewhere is very concerned about a shingles outbreak because those commercials are on all the time! Your room is the first room I have seen where the layout is very similar to mine. Only yours looks a little wider.

It looked bigger even to me...amazing what a little shine can do! :) As for the shingles...I just know that if someone is going to get it, it's going to be me! It always happens that way!
DeleteI love the look & feel of a fresh, clean, empty classroom. I am excited to get started on my own, but not looking forward to getting side-tracked with new projects that pop-up!

I know! I feel like I need to commit to some of the pins I've re-pinned now before things get too crazy!
DeleteLove the tree!!! Hope you find it....I know when our floors are being cleaned, things get shuffled and moved around.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, your room looks HUGE! Maybe it's because it's empty, but it looks really big!

I thought it looked bigger too...now I'm wondering if I can feng shui it enough to keep it feeling huge! :)

Please join me for my giveaway!
There was a lot of trial and error in it's creation...and a little bit of prayer too!
DeleteOk, I added you to my google reader feed once I entered your contest and now I'm lurking around your old posts! I have a million things to comment on ;)
ReplyDelete1) I LOVE your windows, shades, and nature!!! I have two teeny tiny windows in the corners of my classroom with broken blinds. I'm jealous!
2) Your tree is great! Hope you can find it! We can't go back to school until August 1st... which will be here sooner than I'd like it to be!
3) Your new MPM borders are gorgeous!
4) I am from Ohio, too! The President just came to Toledo last week. Pure craziness!
5) My grade level is departmentalizing for the first time this year, too! I'm terrified. I will be teaching technology (I'm pumped!), but I will be losing science and social studies. Eeek!!
We have a lot in common!!

Delete1. I do love my windows...but I really want a door...and a second floor!
2. August 1...Holy Cow!
3. MPM was totally new to me this year...love that by borders were all on sale!
4. Ohio! Are we closer than we think?? Cedar Point is in my backyard!
5. Yeah! We'll have to share how differentiation is working for each of us!
We DO have a lot in common! So glad to have found a new friend! :)
Well, I have been near your backyard many times then!! I always wondered what it was like for people who live right by CP. Does everyone have a season pass or is it not all that exciting for the locals?? I am in a suburb of Toledo, so we are pretty close to each other!
DeleteProbably not everyone has a season pass...but I do and so does my family! We practically live at Soak City during the summer and we head into Cedar Point for dinner...or just a few hours to ride a few rides. I have 3 nieces and a nephew that range in age from 1-4...so they love it! My sisters and I used to work there in the summer...so we have tons of memories! It's nice to be able to come and go as we like...and our passes have already paid for themselves!
DeleteThat sounds like so much fun! I would go just to get soft pretzel from the Gourmet Pretzel place... they are divine!
