Welcome! I hope to use this blog to share some of the amazing things my class and school does to make learning fun! I have been teaching for 15 years already! I started teaching 3rd grade in a Parochial School, then I was hired to teach 1st grade for three years, was moved to 5th grade for 2 years, and then came back to 1st grade in the district where I attended school. I love that I'm able to give back the the school district that guided me to become the teacher I am today! I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, certified 1-8; a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction; and my Administrator License Pre-K-12.

"Alphabet Tree" Craftivity!

Hi Friends!

Tonight I created a little craftivity for the beginning of the year that reviews the sight words my kiddos learned in kindergarten.  It's been one of those projects that I've done for years, but I now made it "pretty" to share with you!  It's based on the story, The Alphabet Tree by Leo Lionni!  I'm going to offer this to you for FREE on my blog for...oh...a few hours or so but then I'll put it in my shops!  Go ahead and download it...if you find an oops, please let me know so I can fix it!

This activity has now been uploaded to my
TPT and Teachers Notebook Shops!

On the classroom front...
Tuesday was pretty productive in my classroom.  Bulletin Boards are up for the most part and furniture is arranged which makes me feel like I'm ahead of the game...for now!  :)

I forgot to snap a few pictures so you'll have to wait a day or two...or more before I get back into my classroom again...busy weekend coming up!

Lakeshore...so worth the hour and a half road trip to Beachwood, Ohio!  Everything we need to start our year is 20% off...borders, stickers, certificates, name plates, storage stuff, background paper, calendar stuff, banners, punch-out letters, notepads...EVERYTHING!  Spend enough money...you get a planner for free.  Text a number...you get a free shopping bag for free.  My sister wants to go back once more before school starts so we're going to have to sneak in an extra trip!  AWESOME!

I'm really trying to give this whole TPT and Teachers Notebook thing a shot but I don't want to just throw anything on there.  I want whatever I have created to have a purpose and make sure it's practical.  Thanks to everyone who has gone shopping in my shops and left comments.  I totally appreciate it!  If you haven't stopped by my shops, you'll find the links on the right hand side of my blog.  Anyone in need of some chapter books geared toward grades 4-6? I posted a few sets in my TPT shop and had lots of views...just no takers! Any ideas of how to get these books out of my garage?  :)

Have a great day...well what's left of it!
